For all those submitting time sensitive documents by mail.

Urgent Notice About USPS Postmarks
The United States Postal Service (USPS) has changed how mail is postmarked. USPS postmarks now show the date that the mail was processed by a USPS machine, not the date that it was dropped off or collected by the post office.

This change affects time-sensitive documents, including license applications, payment of taxes and IRS or State reports or appeals.

To ensure that your mailing date is properly recorded for a deadline, we suggestyou take your mail to a USPS retail counter and request a manual postmark.
