My first memory of Earth Day is the 1990 poster for Earth Day with the quote “No Place Like Home.”

This was the first year I was able to participant in the school’s street day cleanup because I met the height and age requirement. I remember feeling so special to pick up trash on the side of the road because the person who collected the most trash received a prize.

I did not win the prize that year but from that day on, I have always participated in recycling efforts in my home and professional life. I was so happy three years ago, when I found a copy of this poster on EBay and I purchased it to hang in my kitchen, so I can remind my family and teach my future children the importance of taking care of the earth.
